Applicants may choose to apply to all three Hendricks Hope Scholarship Foundation Scholarships, but must complete and submit one application per scholarship. Please read and comply with individual scholarship requirements.

Scholarship Application Packet

The “Dream Scholarship” will be awarded to a recipient who is a first generation college student. The awarded scholarship recipient will receive a one year, minimum $1500 scholarship, released directly to an approved recipient-choice institution in the form of $750 per semester. Applicants must be the first member of their immediate family to attend a post-secondary institution. An applicant is considered “first generation” if neither parent, nor single parent with whom the child resides, earned a post-secondary education degree. This is a merit-based scholarship.

Please respond to the following essay prompt in no more than three pages.

Hope & Love 4 Kids values a student willing to dream a dream that has never been achieved, and strive to seek their aspirations disregarding limiting implications. Please describe what a post-secondary education means to you and where or whom your motivation to further your education originates from. Also, describe how this award will facilitate your ability to reach your dreams and how your dreams can potentially facilitate others’ dreams.

The “Hope Scholarship” will be awarded to a recipient who demonstrates financial need. The awarded scholarship recipient will receive a one year, minimum $1500 scholarship, released directly to an approved recipient-choice institution in the form of $750 per semester. Applicants should include a letter and/or documentation verifying their need for financial assistance. Applicants will be considered foremost by financial need but also in combination of their merit.

Please respond to the following essay prompt in no more than three pages.

A large part of Hope & Love 4 Kids is giving hope to children that may be blinded by their current despair. Please describe a time when someone gave you hope in a time of desperation and the outcome of their effort; and, explain why instilling hope into children is a necessary cause. Also, explain how this award will further your efforts in giving hope to others in need.

The “Love Scholarship” will be awarded to a recipient with Hope & Love 4 Kids volunteer merit. The awarded scholarship recipient will receive a one year, minimum $750 scholarship, released directly to an approved recipient-choice institution in the form of $375 per semester. The applicant must be a current and active Hope & Love 4 Kids volunteer with a minimum volunteer effort of 15 hours per semester. It is the applicant’s responsibility to attach verified volunteer documentation, signed by the Hope & Love 4 Kids Volunteer Coordinator, to his or her application tracking completed volunteer hours. This is a merit based scholarship.

One of Hope & Love 4 Kids’ missions is to instill a sense of community in younger generations, specifically those we help, and educate them about the necessity of giving back. Please explain why you think this is a necessary concept for younger generations to learn and how you plan to further this learning opportunity for younger generations in your future endeavors through being awarded this scholarship.
